International Quality Crown Award

UNITEN is the third organization from Malaysia to have joined its long pretigious list of award-winners out of the past 24 years of its existence. Upon receiving the award on behalf of UNITEN, Prof. Dato' Ir. Dr. Mashkuri Yaacob, the Vice-Chancellor, congratulated and thanked the UNITEN community for its high quality work and support. He said, "I feel extremely proud to receive this Gold Award on behalf of UNITEN. The work that we do in UNITEN, does not end with this award. We must strive harder to consistently maintain quality in the work that we do every day."

The IQC is awarded  to organizations in recognition for their leadership, quality, innovation, excellence, technology, customer service and prestige, consisting of Gold, Plantinum and Diamond categories. The IQC Award Selection Committee executed a stringent process which included voting sessions held during the B.I.D. World Congress in Paris, London, Geneva, Frankfurt, Madrid and New York over a 10-month duration. Competing with other well-known organizations from 118 countries ranged from medium, large and a few that have been listed in the Global Fortune 500, it was not a leisure battle. When asked on why UNITEN won the Gold category, Mr. Prieto commented, "The university demonstrated a concerted team effort working towards a continuous improvement of processes as well as striving to be the global forerunner in the realm of Customer Satisfaction, Leadership, Innovation and Efficiency which are the core elements of the B.I. D. QC100 Model of TQM."

It was a very glorious and memorable moment for UNITEN to be the recipient of Gold category of the IQC Award. The tough fight given by UNITEN was something to look up. UNITEN has given a good example in its high quality management and keeps on working to strive bigger goals in the future.
